CHINESE TIMES 1148 -33- JY June 5 Saturday P.l 1) Chinese Times supported the B.C. Flood Emergency Fund drive by printing a long advertisement to encourage donations. P.2 2) Flood relief drive - Mah Chan lin the 1st one to donate $200 and then Lees. 3) Ching Won Musical Club - 2 Chung Wah Siring Drama Club - put on a performance on June 13 to raise flood relief funds. 4) Jung Wah Baseball Team - matches. 5) Lib Candidate Campney would give a talk at Vancouver - all Chinese were welcome. June 7 Monday p.3 1) Lib Party had a center at 86 E. Pender which would provide transportation for voters on the voting date. Also Campney was the man to vote for. 2) Flood Relief Fund - many Chinese organizations gave donations. June 8 Tuesday P.3 1) CBA - announced that Chinese should help build dyke re-enforcement along Fraser Valley. 2) Yu Fong Totj H.Q. - welcomed 2 reps, from the States H.Q. who were in Vancouver to raise funds for Fong Toy 2nd School. 3) Freemason - Winnipeg - welcomed jt^ '|s§L- 4) Freemason - Division H.Q. in the States acknowledged the Divisional H.Q. in Canada about the 2nd National^General Convention on Sept. 1 at Shanghai Central Party Center. Each Division H.Q. should send in 2 representatives. Also - the Division H.Q. in the States would hold a General Convention in Chicago on July 15 - representatives from Canada were essential. June 9 Wednesday P.3 1) CBA encouraged the Chinese community to participate in the performance by Ching Won Musical Club and Chung Wah Sing Drama Club on June 13. 2) Flood Relief Fund Drive - preparation for the Charity performance on June 13. 3) Flood Relief Fund Drive - donations from Lung Kong Kting Shaft/. P.4 J) Chinese Public School - Halifax - was going to be established. A building Company was set up. June 10 Thursday P.3 1) Flood Relief drive - more donations from Chinese community. 2) in order to promote the charity performance for flood relief on June 13, a broadcasting program was held on June 9 to attaoh people. ddttvatK.
