Freemason - description on the 3rd day of the general convention in Cuba. A description of the 2 pre-conference cttee meeting. Freemason Division H.Q. - general meeting on Sept. 19. Chinese Anglican Church - opening cerenony for the extension would be Sept. 21. It was to seek welfare for the overseas Chinese. An English course would be offered at 636 Keefer. Overseas Chinese Elementary School - school funds were usually raised at wedding banquets and other happy occasions. Due to the increase of students, a new building would be built on 300 Block Pender. At the great Northern Railway Station, a Chinese who was returning to China was arrested for hiding $1900 in his clothing. He was fined $250. It was said that if the whole family was returning to China, they were allowed to take $250, an individual was allowed $150, and $300 draft. Freemason Athletic Club Vic. - celebrated 2nd anniversary of its revival on Sept.15.
