- Freemason - Trans-continent General Convention - Cuba preparation Cttee - ex. list. En-Ping H.Q. announced: a) Realty Cttee - all share money and interest would be returned to shareholders; (b) Re-registration - new members $2.00; registration, and those who had not handed in foundation fees had to give $5. Freemason - Athletic Club - meeting on May 18th. CPS Duncan - was burnt down. Fund raising for reconstruction was started. Overseas Chinese Reconstruction Assoc. - Van. - opening ceremony for new address on May 18th. Kai-ping H.Q. Van. - farewell party. Ho Lin - a vegetable hawker as well as an enthusiastic member of the Ching Won Musical Club died. His funeral would be arranged by the Vegetable Sellers Cttee and the Ching Won Musical club. 17 Chinese gamblers were arrested at 249 Pender (each was fined $10). Freemason Nanaimo- commemorated on May 11th. Freemason Halifax - commemoration of on May 11 as well as observing the Ching Ming Day.
