- Freemason Van. - commemoration on May 11th. - an article about his life in Vancouver. - donation. CBA - , the president, who was at the same time the president of Tee Shing Shon Yee Hiu died. Kai-ping H.Q. - received a letter from the association in Hong Kong re fund raising for military equipment for the district to fight against bandits. Chung Wah Woman's fund raising cttee was set up during the war when Mrs. Lai (the wife of Consul General in Van.) tried to call a meeting with Chinese women at the consulate. They raised medicine, food, and clothing; total funds raised was over $3000 which was given to the Red Cross. CPS Duncan - large amounts of funds were needed for reconstruction of CPS. A delegate was sent to raise funds to Lethbridge and Calgary. Moose Jaw News - May 7; a Chinese social club owner was fined $1000 for operating gambling business. Dart Coon Club Van. - the meeting on May 7 decided those who handed in the annual fee before June, had only to give $3, after July 1, original amount would be required. Dart Coon Club - Calgary - list of donors for Jan. to April operational fee.
