- There was a large group of Chinese waiting at the Im. Dept. for deportation. They were ex-cons who had served their terms. Before the war, they were deported immediately after the terms ended, but during war, with the termination of ships going to the Orient, they were allowed to stay and work temporarily. They were asked to report to the department now and then. Freemason Calgary - reps, were in , where they were enthusiastically welcomed by the Chinese club. Overseas Chinese Reconstruction Assoc - 210 Pender St- the original Assoc. was Overseas Chinese Fund Raising and National Salvation Assoc. After the war, on Feb. 10, 1946, the Central Overseas Chinese Affairs Cttee requested the assoc. to change names. The executives were elected on Feb. 23/47. CBA Vict. - exeaetives; CPS Vic. - executives; Chung Wah Hospital Vic. - executives.
