Tze Yap Q Pao arrived. Consul General Lai ( ) of Van. announced on March 26 a message issued on Dec. 1946 from the External Affairs Dept.. All returning Chinese were warned not to bring excessive taxable belongings. A permit was now needed for merchandize over $500 U.S. The son of minister, was the head of the Chinese Christian children's Association in the States. He was given orders to investigate the living conditions of Chinese students in the States and Canada. He was in Van. on Mrch 26 giving a talk at UBC. Lim Cee Ho Tong Kow Mock Ben. Assoc. gave him a warm welcome. Wah Q Kung Sore D uncan - supported Canada Aid to China and due to the small population in the area, the executive decided to collect $2 foxed donation from each person.
