Dart Coon Club Van. - general meeting was held to send farewell to members. , who was murdered - a list of donors, court hearing about police who took birbes from gambling joints. It was reported that there were 37 Chinese gambling joints in Van., all except 4 were in Pender Street. One Chinese owned 13 joints, with 6f operating Fan-tan games. The fronts were usually legal stores. On Jan. 11, police had already gone to Chinatown and warned the owners, thus the gambling business in Chinatown had died down. (Continued on March 21, P.3). Man Sing Reading Room H.Q. - Mr. & Mrs. were given farewell party before they went back to Calgary. Freemason Winnipeg - executive list; executive cttee - 7 members. Freemason Calgary - In order to enlighten the general convention on April 13, Freemason Athletes and members of the Ching Won Musical Assoc. and Jing Wah Sing Drama Society in Van. were invited to give performances. Concurrently, the preparation cttee also wanted to set up a charity performance so as to raise funds for Canada aid to China and other agencies. 2 drama performances would be held on April 13 an a parade would be on April 16. Ticket agents would start selling tickets on March 23rd.
