Description
The Chinese Times was the distributor of the Tze Yap Pao which was published in China. Chinese Veterans received citizenship certificate on Feb. 17. There were programs to raise funds to give aid to China. There were over 400 participants. En-ping members intended to build a bridge in the local county so as to promote better communication between Enping and Kai-ping. A building cttee was elected in Van. to raise funds. 1st term donations had already exceeded $1000. Chinese War Rlief Assoc. invited Magician Society to make a charity performance on Feb. 23. Tickets to be bought in advance. the funeral party - his coffin would be shipped back. Chinese War Rlief Assoc. received instructions from the Overseas Chinese Affairs Cttee to retain the structure whereas the name would be changed to Van. Overseas Chinese National funding advocation Ass'n. Election of executives would be Feb. 23. Branch - paper mill news. Spring festival was held on Feb. 12. Victoria news - a Chinese vegetable hawker , was beaten up after he went back to Victoria for business. He had stayed in Van. for quite a few years.
