Description
Freemason - an article to priase the devotiih of the freemason members towards the party. The Chinese Times set up in the end of Ching Dynasty. Great help in setting up the Republic, fight against Japanese, advocate relief and spreading news. The Freemason Branches mortgaged the properties in Van. and Vic. for revolutionary funds. Recently, the buildings were bought back. Tai Kung Charity School - had been set up for 6 years; the first charity school in Chinese communities in N. America. Previously, it was only supported by the Freemason, but now th e other sectors of the Chinese community also made donations. Over $10,000 was raised for moving the school to a new address. Dart Coon Club was a kind of supporting association. It bought buildings . Freemason Athletic Club - to train the body as well as the mind; to propogate glorious Chinese marshal arts. Financially supported by Freemason. Before CKT changed to CK Party, 2 representatives were sent to attend the Cross u.s. Fremmason general convention in New York. Afterwards, they changed to name from CKT to CK Party. Last year, during the restructuring in China, 2 delegates were also sent back to Shanghai to attend the 5-continents Freemason General Convention; then the name was changed to Freemason. A Freemason Central Executive Cttee was set up in Shanghai, which advocated the setting up of Freemason branches in various Chinese Provinces. Delegates were also sent by the Central Cttee to S.E. Asia to propogate associational affairs. Dart Coon Club Van. - a meeting would be held on Feb. 4. Chinese Times - the new directors were.inaugurated on Feb. 2. 43 Restrictive Immigration Law Abolishme nt Cttee -held the 1st meeting on Feb. 1. A telegram wibuld be sent to the new Canadian Ambassador to China and invited him to Vancouver. A welcoming party would await his arrival in Van. - To ask for abolishment of the laws. There were many participants to the meeting. Donations were raised. Kong Chow Assoc. Victoria - executive list; President ; Vice Chung Wah Workers Assoc. ( ) new staff inaugurated on Feb. 2. Lung Kong Kung Sore Realty Division Van. - new staff inaugurated on Feb. 2. Cross Canada Kai-ping H.Q. Van. - new staff inaugurated on Feb. 2. A spring festival celebration would be held on Feb. 9, donations would be welcomed. Chong Shan Lung Chung Locality Assoc. - a welcoming party for 2 U.S. Chinese merchants. CBA Toronto - supported abolishment of 45 restrictive immigration law activities by holding a general meeting on Jan. 26 for both the Chinese and white communities Leung Chung How Tong - Lethbridge - 20th anniversary on Jan. 26th. Mah Kara Chee Tong - Van. - a Mah Clan member thanked the association for sending flowers and food to him when he was at thehospital for operation.
