- Leung Chung How Tong - a farewell party on Jan. 29th. Chan Lin who lived on 442 Keefer was going to build a hotel on Street and 17th Avenue. Alaska Pine Co. - donated $1500 for relief to be sent to China. The anount was designed to be used as mobile medical clinic. Police went to search the suspected gambling joints on Jan. 30th. HNavy Music Club - supported fund relief for China by holding a concert on Feb. The police department had gone through staff changes. They were also trying to close down gambling joints. Freemason and Dart Coon H.Q. in Victoria - spring festival on Jan. 26th. Chung Wah Kung Sore - a general meeting to deal with 43 immigration laws. 5 briefs would be sent to concerned governmert officials. Canadian Aid to China - branch in Calgary - had a lunch party to raise funds. Chinese residents were also invited. They were encouraged to hold meetings insid the Chinese community. On Feb. 2, a meeting wuld be held in a Chinese Kchurch.
