1) Freemason H.Q. and Branch and Tai Kung Ch^arity school directors and staff would have a joint conference on Jan. 25 at the Van. Branch. 2) Dart Coon Vancouver - held a spring festival party on Jan. 23 at the old address of Peking Restaurant, now the Tai Kung Charity School. 3) Hoysun Ning Yeung Assoc. - due to the re-opening of the liner travelling to the Orient, collection of exit fees had also started. 4) The Director of the Police Anti-gambling cttee, resigned after 10 years of service. 5) Chinese War Relif Assoc. H.Q. Van. remitted the funds raised by Overseas Chinese Agricultural Assoc. ( back to the Department of Treasury. The Dept. had sent a receipt as well as thank-you note back to the fund raising H.Q. 6) Chinese Consulate - helped to find a missing Chinese. 7) Chung Wah Workers H.Q. - H.Q. - election on Jan. 22-9 executive directors - loon Sien was one. 8) Canada Aid to China - a film was shown in churches and schools about the desperate situation in China. It was hoped to raise %-million dollars in B.C. 9) An association was set up in Ottawa to abolish the 43 restrictive immigration laws. - Anti-Immigration Law Branch in Ottawa. 10) Anti-Restrictive Immigration law in Ottawa - set up on Jan. 19 in a general meeting; Chairman . On Jan. 26, a banquet would be held to invite the white leaders for discussion;$2 admission fee was required. $2 fixed donation was required from the Chinese in the area. 11) Winnipeg news - the Sweet potatoe farmers Assoc; requested the govt, to let 500 immigrants in for farming business. 12) Immigration news - news released on Jan. 23 from Ottawa - the restrictive immigration law might be abolished in the next parlimanet session. It might be changed to a quota system. 12) Wong Kong Har H.Q. Van. - executive list; executive directors - 19 members. 14) Chinese War Relief Association H.Q. jjVan.) announced on Jan. 24 there were still over 700 National Salvation tickets ( ) waiting for the owners to pick them up. For the benefits of the buyers, the assoc. would be opened on Sunday from Jan. 26 - Feb. 26. Otherwise all tickets would be given back to the government. 15) America Chinese Exports Ltd. - 16 E.
