- Chang Wing Yeung H.Q. announced on Jan. 5 that new registration was needed. New I.D. would be distributed to those who paid fees and donations. Tai Kung Charity School - - the treasury division received $872 from Victoria Freemasons. The donation was for extension of the school. Canadian Aid to China - the H.Q. was in Toronto. The organization was to help rehabilitate after the war in China. 1st fund raising activities in B.C. was a banquet in Vancouver Hotel. Sam Yap Locality Association - -new executives were elected on January 11. They would assume office on February 9th. Lee Clan Assoc. - Victoria - new executive assumed office on Jan. 12th. Ontario news: a Chinese who stole money from his employers would be deported. Winnipeg news: An MLA from Manitoba encouraged brotherhood. The big defect of the government was its discrimination against Japanese who had done nothing harmful to Canada. - the secretary of the Shar Doy Q On H.Q. died. Vancouver Overseas Chinese Hotel/Motel Association - the 4th term executives. Executive directors - 9 members.
