Description: The number of Chinese ;patients are as follows: more than 50 (4 are female; in the St. Joseph Hospital; 10 in Kingsway ( ); 15 in Public Hospital; 5 in St. Paul; 2 in ( ); 1 in ( ) Hospital. A report on them will be prepa ed and published by Lin Tao-ye ( ), a Chinese doctor to encourage the patients' relatives and friends to visit them. 40 years ago: many Chinese came to Canada at this date to avoid the $500 head tax which was in effect soon after that. Victoria: CH $1,000 was saved for relief in a marri2ge ceremony.
