- Description
- The Toy San Association presented a petition to Consul General Sher asking him to ask the Canadian Government to raise the ceiling of $25 monthly remittance allowed at the present time. $25 is far too little, the Association said, considering the hardship befallen the people in Toy San. Three white youths were retained by police for causing public disturbances in a Chinese restaurant. 8 waitresses of the MDdern Hotel, were on strike for a raise (Nanaimo).
