- CHINESE TIMES 1942 -12- Aji May 9 1) Victoria: The United Chinese Youth Association invited a leading figure of the Indian intelligentia to give a speech on their weekly speech meeting. 2) Victoria: The Chinese Security Team arranges speeches on the situation in China and the security matter here. • May 11 1) The Chinese Consulate encouraged people to contribute to the fund raising campaign of the Canadian Red Cross. 2) Lin Sai Har Tong have received contributions to refugee relief fund from 40 Lins. 3) Ueiw Westminster: The Chinese here start selling vegetables and fruits here, replacing the Japanese. 4) An announcement made by Chee Kong Tong and the Freemasons Resisting Ass'n. on the Lion Dance procession to be held on May 24th to raise refugee relief funds. May 12 1) Tieh Chen Chung Yee Association ( ) celebrated its 28th anniversary on May 10th; CH $30,000 relief fund was raised at the party. 2) moose Jaw: News on the fund raising campaign of May 2nd. $91 was raised by Resisting Ass'n. May 13 1) ( ) and Duncan ( ): The Freemasons celebrated the birth- day of their founding father Chen Chin-nan. May 14 1) The Freemasons and the Chee Kong Tong held a reception party for Lue Hwa-han, chairman of the Lethbridge Chee Kong Tong for years, who came to visit Vancouver yesterday. 2) Duncan: The National Salvation Ass'n here invites Yang Yang Music Club of Victoria to perform a play here on July 21 to raise refugee relief funds. Many people donated things to be auctioned on that day. The proceeds will be used on relief. 3) Victoria: The second son of Chou Nan-de married the daughter of Wong Huei-jun at the Presbyterian Church.
