- - A special edition to celebrate Chinese Times 25th anniversary and its moving to a new building and using new printing machines. A Short History of the Chinese Times - by Ming Xing ( |^Jx4' )• Chinese Times was the first Chinese newspaper in Canada. It was called Hua Yin Ju Pao C^^tf)^^ ) where it was first published in \^o~^-( ). The newspaper was against the Ching Dynasty and x&aa^ax stood for revolution to throw out the Ching regime. Ch'ui Tong-yuen ( ) was t^le editor. The newspaper had contributed significantly to the success of revolution. Sometime after the revolution the name of the newspaper was changed to Ta Han Ju Pao ("^"J^^^/^. Chinese Daily?) and Ch'ui Tong-yuen, Fong Chu-yu C"5^ |=j ) and Chang Ju-po ( ■gjj^ ) were editors one after another. But the newspaper died rather quickly. In 1915, the staff was re-organized and the publication renewed. The newspaper has been called "The Chinese Times" (Ta Han Kong Pao) since then. Although the names of the newspaper have changed several times, it is always the official newspaper of the Freemasons.
