March IS - Meeting of the Bonds Selling Association. In the meeting, it was agreed that the money raised by this association should be used only to aid winning the war, so it should not be used in Lin's, the late president, funeral. Chen Pin-chien (tf^fg, ) was chairman of the meeting. - Kiwanis Club ( of the Westerners) invited consulate Pau to speak on Chinese War of Resistance. - Fan-tsou (ijf jf" ) was fined $30 for transporting unauthorized potatoes. - A Chinese grocery was robbed by a westerner. March 15 - An ann;uncement from the CBA: Now the anti-Chinese sentiment is high. There we e many cases of Westerners going into Chinese owned restaurants and taking pictures of white girls serving the customers. Those photos might be used later to agitate anti-Chinese sentiment. If there are March 15 - westerners coming into the restaurants and taking pictures with no special reason, refuse to let them do so. That will be the best. — March 14, CBA - 12 Chinese were arrested for gambling. - Victoria: The Liu, Kwan, Chang, and Chao held a memorial party on the birthday of Liu-pe. (-$t| Km ).
