- Description
- Oct.13 - Lung KongSociety commemorates the birthday of General Chao Yin (^jff ^ The Vegetables Retailers Asso. ( ^ ^ ) held a meeting and decided to cut all business relationships with the Japanese. The mayor refused the request of the 30 white waitresses of the six western restaurants (owned by Chinese) in Chinatown to let them work in the restaurants again. Oct. 13 and 14 - The Revival of Anti-Japanese Activity - by She Wen (F*jf? ^jg^ The City government ordered three Chinese Restaurants to close down on the basis that the three Restaurants hired white waitresses to do 'easy moral' things. But is clear that if there were any so-called 'easy moral' things going on in the Chinese (Western) restaurants . at all, the blame shall not be on the owners of the restaurants. On the otherhand, the city government ordered all the Chinese restaurants to replace all their male workers with white females. I hope that a general meeting of all the Chinese shall be convened to protest these discriminatory decisions of the city government.
