- Oct- 5 - *A letter to Overseas Chinese - by the Resisting Ass. in Settf^/* ( )• *In the meeting of the Resisting Ass., it was decided that 4^lvvL ? will be /\p/,§£eed to se£l the Patriotic Bonds ( ^4[fl # ^^j )• '— A Oct.5-6 - A summary of "A letter to Overseas Chinese" - by the Resisting Ass. in There are two things that we think we, the Overseas Chinese, should do at the moment. And we have to do it immediately. One is to raise military funds, the other is to end all the economic relationsips with Japan and the Japanese. We have done quite well in raising funds, but we have to raise more. We urge you to save every cent you can and contribute it to help win the war. As to the latter, we have the following proposals that have been proved to be quite effective a few years ago. Here are the proposals: 1. Any store that is founded to be selling Japanese goods will be fined $500. 2. Any individual who buys any Hapanese goods which is worth less than $5 will be fined $5. The fine will be the same as the cost of the goods which cost more than $5. 3. The fine will be doubled at the second time. 4. For those who continue to trade with the Japanese, this organization will meet to decide severe puniehment. 5. Those who refuse to pay the fine will be subject to any effective ways we can think of to deal with them. 6. Half of the fine will go to those who help discover the offenders.
