Local News: 1.Shung-I HQ performed a play to celebrate its change of address 2.Yip Kwan-ming *** & Yip Shih ***, both of Poon Yu, had a quarrel yesterday afternoon. Kwan-ming as injured by Shih. The police had arrested Shih, and Kwan-ming was sent to the hospital for treatment. 3.A Chinese, Shing, was prosecuted for violating electrical equipment regulations. He was bailed out of jail. But his bail was confiscated because he failed to turn up in court. 4.Chinese, Tsiu, was prosecuted for breaking into someone’s house & stealing. He pleaded guilty & was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment. 5.Deadline for submitting article to the periodical of the Chinese Sutdents’ Ass’n is next Friday. News from Other Cities 1.Ottawa: Ip *** from Vancouver & an Italian were prosecuted for selling drugs. Their appeal was not granted. They were sentenced to 5 years imprisonment, were fined $500 each, and were beaten 10 strokes each.
