Local News 1.Dart-coon Club: farewell party 2.Peking Restaurant has been advised that giving customers lottery tickets is illegal. So now all customers who eat over $1 will have a 10% discount. 3.Chan Wing-tsiang HQ: farewell party for members returning to China. 4.Hoi-ou Kung-So: farewell arty 5.Chinese, Hung, Yang & Chou, were arrested for opium smoking. They were released after paying $50 bail each. But their bail was confiscated because they did not turn up in court. 6.Chinese, Li, was prosecuted for opium trafficking 2 years ago. Li fled immediately. But he was arrested last week in Toronto. News from Other Cities 1.Chicago: A Chinese laundryman was asked by a Jewish if he would be a package off from him because he was short of money. The Chinese bought the package & tried to sell it to someone else. The buyer, also a Jew, said that he did not have enough cash. So he made a deposit & took away part of the material from the package. When the Chinese when to his address to collect the rest of the money, he found that it was a false address. 2.Victoria: 3 Japanese wood collectors prosecuted 2 Chinese collectors. The lawyers of both sides started a long argument in court and the judge ordered the case to be postponed.
