- Local News 1.The 72 year-old Chinese, Ma ***, was arrested for taking his son-in-law’s 2 sons back to China. His son-in-law, Wang ***, worked in another city. He got a letter suddenly informing him that Ma was taking his sons away. He hurried home * found his sons missing. He therefore filed a complaint against his father-in-law. 2.Chinese, How Lok, was prosecuted for operating gambling house. He pleaded guilty & was fined $50. The 6 gamblers were fined $10 each. News from Other Cities 1.Victoria: Kong-chou Reading Club – 51st speech meeting. 2.San Francisco: detail of the funeral of Mr. Ng ***. 3.Victoria: A Canadian youth was prosecuted for possessing a watch & watch strap which belonged to a Chinese. His case was postponed to Thursday.
