Local News 1.A Chinese, Liu, was previously prosecuted for ***. He pleaded guilty & was fined $50. News from Other Cities 1.Victoria: Discussions of discrimination against Orientals in the provincial meeting on March 25. 2.Victoria: The provincial gov’t had not discussed the bylaws of concentrating agricultural products in the provincial meeting. 3.Victoria: The Chinese, Li, who was prosecuted for possessing opium, was found guilty. He was fined $200 and was sentenced for 6 months imprisonment. 4.New York: After a quarrel with a Chinese, an American girl attempt to shoot the Chinese. Having failed, 2 more shots were followed in the street. Police had arrested the girl & 2 more Americans in connection with the shooting.
