Local News: 1.The Chinese Chamber of Commerce had negotiated with the police department re: the robbery of the Chinese Jeweler. (The letter from the Chamber of Commerce to the police & its reply are printed). 2.Chinese, Wong Hing, was prosecuted for attempted murder and battery of Wong Kwan. Due to insufficient evidence, the charge for attempted murder had been dropped but the defendant was still prosecuted for beating Wong Kwan. 3.Chinese, Li, Wong & So, were prosecuted for selling ***. They were fined $50. News from Other Cities: 1.Ottawa: A certain Mr. Seto *** was arrested for seducing a Canadian girl to become a prostitute. Seto met the girl the previous night on a street, and the girl ask if she could borrow some money. Seto was delighted, and then proceeded to a hotel. When Seto went out of the room to get something, the girl left too. Seto then reported to the police that he was arrested. But he was arrested. He was fined $107. 2.Victoria: The B.C. growers (farmers) have agreed to concentrate agricultural products before distribution. 3.Victoria: The Chinese youth, who was prosecuted for committing suicide has now been acquitted. 4.Victoria: Kong-chou Hui-kwan – spring banquet.
