- Local News 1.Hong-Kong Kung pao: list of shareholders from the US & Canada 2.A Chinese, Chang ***, of Yiu-Ping, was run over by a car on Pender St. yesterday. He is now under treatment in the hospital. 3.Vancouver Security Association *** had a fund-raising movement yesterday to assist unemployed workers. Many unemployed Chinese benefitted from it. 4.A Chinese laundry store was robbed on Monday night. 2 robbers took away a truck load of untouched clothes. The truck was recovered later. The clothes were not lost. 5.A truck driven by a Chinese collided with another truck. 6.A Chinese grocery store owner, Tim Yuan, was prosecuted for doing business on Wednesday afternoon. He was fined $5. However, Time appealed. His lawyer argued that since the bylaw on business hours were passed last April, the city had no right to interfere with Tim’s store hours. The case has now been cancelled.
