Local News 1.Chinatown at Chinese New Year. 2.Notice of the Toi-shan Ning-yueng Hui-Kwan ***: a general meeting will be held on Feb 18 at 9PM. 3.A Chinese photography studio on Main St. caught fire last night around 7:30PM. The fire was caused by the accumulation of ashes in the chimney. 4.Amendment to the cancellation of agricultural product regulations. News from Other Cities 1.London ?, Ontario ***: CKT – meeting to welcome new members. 2.Ottawa: B.C. agricultural product bylaws are no longer valid. 3.Seattle: The police raided a building in Chinatown and discovered an opium dent. One room was used for morphine (?). Altogether 10 Chinese were arrested. 4.San Francisco: A Chinese doctor, Yiu ***, hired a governess for his children. The governess gradually became a good friend of Mrs. Yiu, and she – the governess – suggested that Mrs. Yiu should invest some money in the stock market in China. However, after Mrs. Yiu handed her the money, the governess fled from the city.
