Local News 1.CBA: 4 organizations donated to unemployed Chinese. 2.A Chinese, Lok Tim, was prosecuted for wandering in the street. He was sentenced to 2-months imprisonment. Chinese, Wang, was prosecuted for running a gambling house. He was fined $50 or one month in jail. The 3 gamblers were fined $10 each. 3.The Chinese Soccer team will have a silver-cup match with the “English Son” tomorrow. If it wins this match, it will be able to go to another match with the B.C. Tel team News from Other Cities 1.New Westminster: A Chinese, Leung, was arrested for selling drugs. He was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and was fined $200. 2.Mississippi, USA: A Chinese Store was burnt to the ground by some Americans, who wanted to drive out Chinese. The Consulate in New York has negotiated with the City gov’t for protection.
