Local News 1.CKT & Dart-coon Club – farewell party 2.A Chinese waitress committed suicide by swallowing Lysol. The waitress, Ah Ngian, had been sentenced to jail for attempted murder of her husband. After she was released, she was prosecuted by her lover for owing him money. Prior to her death, she was again sued by the restaurant in which she worked. 3.The Sun promoted the revision of immigration law for Chinese. 4.Richmond: A Chinese, Wai-hap, was prosecuted for stealing 31 bags of potatoes from another Chinese. The case will be postponed till Monday. News from Other Cities 1.Prince Rupert: CKT – detail of the exchange ceremony. 2.Winnipeg: Two Chinese, who belong to the same association, had a big fight because of girls. 3.Ottawa: Canada will set up a consulate at Nanking. 4.Victoria: The 2 whites who robbed a Chinese the other day had been arrested. They were also prosecuted for 2 similar crimes, and were sentenced to 9-years imprisonment each.
