A Chinese was prosecuted for opening a gambling ticket store. He was fined $50. Another Chinese was arrested for runnig a gamlbing house. He was fined $50 or one month in jail. The 5 gamblers were fined $15 each. 1. Victoria: The Canadian government started practising the 43 regulations on July 1, which was a great insult to the Chinese. ( ) commemorated this occasion on July 1. 2. New Westminster: A Chinese was charged for speeding. He was fined $20. 3. Victoria: The Cinese who was prosecuted for cheating was sentenced to imprison-ment. 4. Chicago: Student of Northwest University, Mr. Lau ( 4>) *Q ), obtained his Ph^D in Economics. He will go to Columbia University to continue his research. 5. $r^G*rW$> : list of Chinese graduates. 6. San Francisco: the manager of Wong-Lau Co., Mr. Wong ( % 5^ :-| ), prosecuted an American restaurant owner for racial discrimination. Mr. Wong was refused service when he went into that restaurant.
