- 1. After the new city regulations became effective, a number of stores have received notice for hearings from the police. The Chinese Vegetables Commerce Assoc. ( ^ 4^) ) held a general meeting to discuss various policies. The social convenor requested the fine be cancelled this time. 2. Members of Kwang-hoi region (/ft ^ yf^7) got a note from Hong Kong stating that the Regional Committee member, Lau Tin-shek ( ), has run away, taking with him the public savings of the committee. The committee has requested the government to arrest him and committee president (Shiu ), who helped him with the theft. 3. Mr. Tsentj Tau-ming ( ), an officer of the Chinese Consulate and an enthusiast in public welfare, has passed away. His funeral will take place on May 20th. News from the other cities 1. Victoria: A play will be performed by the CKT Ching-ngo School ( 2. Winnipeg ( T^^^f ): a feud took place in Chinatown on May 14. Altogether 9 people were arrested.
