- 1. 2 Chinese were prosecuted for selling gambling tickets. They wer fined $50 each. 2. A Chinese was arrested for opening a gambling house. He was fined $50. The 2 gamblers were fined $10 each. News from other cities- 1. Victoria: a Chinese, who is a teacher as well as managing editor, seduced his girl pupil. He is going to marry the girl because she is pregnant. However, he has already married; his wife and child are in China. 2. Los Angeles: a Chinese who came from New York to raise money for the Chinese School was arrested for illegal entry to the country. He was released after the produced evidence that he was born in the Y.S. and did not enter illegally.
