1. Min-kuong school ( ^$&%$JL ) held a farewell party for Miss Choi ( Jfcftf^e who was a studnt of the school. She is now going to a Teachers' training college in Kuangchow. 2. A women wrote to the Province, saying that the rumour that Chinese farmers used inferior materials was not true. She believed that Chinese farmers should not be discriminated against because they worked longer hours. 3. A Chinese was arrested for opening a gambling house. He was fined $50. The 6 gamblers were fined $15 each. News from other cities 1. Victoria: CKT Reading Club ( • ) - 61st meeting for speeches. New York: Mai Lan-fong ( 4g ^ ) will perform in a charity show organized by the Chinese school in N.Y. Money raised in the show will be used to build a new campus for the Chinese school. Cumberland: An enthusiastic member of the National Party was found to be an opium smoker. He is now arrested and awaiting hearing.
