- 1. Lon Kong Kung-so ( ) celebrated the birthday of its ancestor, Lau Siu-lid ( ) and its 6th anniversary. A spring banquet was also held. 2. Min-sing Reading Club ( |AA ): 4th anniversary celebration. 3. A Chinese was arrested for offending liquor regulations. He was prosectued for making his own liquor, and fined $200 or 6 months in jail. In addition, he was fined an extra $200 for possessing equipment for making wine. 4. A Chinese was prosecuted for running a gambling joint and fined $50. The 4 gamblers were fined $10 each. 5. Li Dun-chung Kung-so H.Q. ( ) celebrated its 10th anniversary. 6. The charity show of the Christian Organization for Abolishing Unjust Laws &Hto%$*^%tikW4L&fc > took Place yesterday. News from other cities 1. Toronto: The Freemasons of Eastern Canada and the Constitutional Party organized a joint convention to be held on March 9. However, since the preparations were finished, it was held on Feb. 23. 2. Victoria: a Mr. Chang ( ) was hit by another man in a gambling house., when a quarrel broke out between them. Chang rushed to the police. But since the police did not know how he got hurt, it did not take action.
