Description

1. A westerner stole a chicken from a chicken and duck store while the shopkeeper was having supper. But the chicken cackled noisily, which alarmed the shopkeeper and the theif was arrestd. The new functionaries were elected on January 19 at the cba office. 4. San Francisco: Mr. Leung Yam-Ruu ( ) passed away for exactly a year on January 18. The members of the Constitutional Party commemorated his death, on Jan. 19. 5. Victoria: Chinese wrestler, Wing Hay ( ), is going to have a bout with an American wrestler this Saturday. 6. Victoria: 2 Chinese and a German were arrested in an opium joint. They were tried on Jan.20. All pleaded guilty. One Chinese was sentenced to 6 months in jail and was fined $200. The other two were sentenced to 2 months and fined $50 each.
