1. The magazine, Chinese overseas World Magazine ( ) published by the Chinese in New York, has now reached Van. Its chief concern is art and education, and is apolitical in nature. 2. The Union for Chinese Chefs ( ) completed its duty handover yesterday. 3. The manager of the Kam Li-yuan ( ), Mr. Li ( ) was hospitalized since last autumn. He passed away yesterday afternoon. news from other cities 1. Toronto: Mr. Li Mai-chau ( ) attended a press conference on Jan.6. Mr. Li is only 27 years old, but he is now a reporter for the largest English newspaper run by Chinese. Moreover, he is the chief commentator for 18 overseas Chinese newspapers in 9 countries and for two monthly papers. He also objects to the dictatorship of the KMT. During the Press Conference, Mr. Li praised the organization of the British and Canadian governments. 2. Calgary ( ): Sou-yuan Assoc. ( ) completed its duty handover ceremony on Jan.5. 3.
