July 7 Wednesday p.l 1) CBA (Victoria) advertised for the sales of lottery tickets, 50% of the money raised to be used for clearing the land tax of the assocition. p.3 2) Montreal news. A number of unemployed Chinese were charged with vagrancy. CBA, CKT, , & some other associations had already requested Consul General Chow to intervene into such unjust plice action. 3) Victoria news. 2 Chinese were charged with storing liquor. 4) Victoria news. 6 Chinese who worked in a gambling joint were charged with molesting another gambling joint worker. 5) 6KT (Van.) urged all members (including Dart Coon members) to attend the general convention on Oct. 31.
