- j>ept ember 15 P.3 1) 2 Chinese were delayed in returning to Canada due to troubles with the brigade in China. They were almost refused entry into Canada because they came back 4 days after the deadline. Another reason for their late return was due to the strike by the crewmen. 2) CBA Van. Wbre funds were remitted to Shanghai and Canton. In order to clear the rumor that the association had used the relief for building the Chinese hospital, the association welcomed all donors to check the financial statement. 3) It was reported in the "Star" that many Chinese in Vancouver had supported a new textile company in Van. and tried to open a new market with factories in Southern China. The Chinese in Van. believed that communist power was decreasing, and thus trade between China and Canada would be resume soon. 4) A Chinese sent a letter to Van. Sun re gambling business in Chinatown. He pointed out that the links who led police to search certain gambling joints were villains who were hostile to those particular joint owners. 5) Victoria news. (Wong Lau Fong) was shot to death by another Chinese who later committed suicide. This murder case was said to be caused by drug issues. 6) CKT Victoria. Report on the celebration of the opening of the 5-ancestor temple.
