- March 23 P.I 1) An article commenting on Sun Yet Sen. P.2 2) There was a rumor that , the suspect for killing had fled to China. P.3 3) CBA Van. Its report on the financial account of the fund raising bureau for Heung Shan Hospital had arounsed great attention. The president and the treausrer of the fund raising bureau were disatisfied with what had been published. CBA said that a general meeting could be called upon request to clarify any doubts. 4) Shon Yee Hui ( in Van.) announced that with the help of CBA, the abuses of certain executives in the fund raising bureau for Heung Shan Hospital were revealed. It further asserted that its task in guardingthe raising funds had now come to an end. 5) CBA Victoria had distributed circulars urging the Chinese to raise funds for paying the land tax for the association. Besides, due to the recent anti-E. Asian tide, a large sum of money should be set aside for future use. A special committee had been set up to take charge of fund raising and the following decisions were passed: (a) all Chinese in Van. island had to donate $2 each annually. Larger stores should donate more; (b) each Chinese residing in Van. Island had to donate $1 annually. 6) CKT Victoria. Names of donors from Medicine Hat and Lethbridge.
