JULY 24 (THURSDAY) P.I. 1) An article commenting on the working condition and wages of the Chinese lumber workers. It was reported that the workers earned about $5 - 10 a day, however the danger than they might encounter was tremendous. They were thus advised to get heavily insured xxx so as to benefit their family in case of accidents & death. P. 3 2) CKT (DUNCAN) Welcome to ,. , , etc. P. 3 3) Bart Coon Club (CRANBROOK). The lot next to CKT was bought by Dart Coon. The construction of the association would begin soon. P. 3 4) News from Montreal. A Chinese was caught for attempting to kill a white baby by pouring gas on him and trying to set fire to him. P. 3 5) CKT (VICTORIA). An announcement was made on July 23. According to the resolutioi passed in the ft 3rd General Convention in San Francisco regarding the building of the 5- ancestor temple, 2 representatives from Canada would be sent to Shanghai to participate in planning the constructions. All branches were requestec to send in the names of the eligible candidates so that the right persons would be appointed to go to Shanghai before September 1.
