JUNE 23 (MONDAY) P.3 1) CBA (VANCOUVER) got a telegram from Ambassador on June 22 requesting CBA and other Chinese associations to send representatives to meetings at the Embassy in Ottawa K from June 23 to 27. for discussing the Chinese immigrations An urgeat meeting was immediately called by CBA and it was decided that no representative would be sent out this time due to inadequate preparation, however, the ambassador was requested to inform the association of every move and decision made so that representatives could be sent to Ottawa in the future. P.3 2) (VANCOUVER). In reply to the request of the Ambassador , the association sent to Ottawa. To discuss with the ambassador the Chinese immigration laws.X P.3 3) The Chinese Public School and , (Vancouver). A joint meeting was held on June 22 to discuss the preparation of Chinese Humiliation Day. They planned to unite all Chinese school sin Vancouver and Victoria to observe that day. P.3 4) The Vancouver Sun reported the case of an old Overseas Chinese who failed to give evidence of his status in Canada. He was born in Canada before the Confederation during which there was no such thing as birth or entry Kuomingtang, , , , so that they could send representatives to the general meeting on June 26. Announcement about the meeting would also be made on the newspaper so that other associations could join them, too. P.3 2) CBA (VICTORIA). Held a general meeting on June 23 to discuss about thwether they should send a representative to attend the meeting for discussing the Chinese immigration law and at the Chinese embassy in Ottawa or whether they should request , who was appointed by to attend the meeting in Ottawa, to put forward their message. Due to insufficient time and * A/ money, they had finally decided not to send represenatives or both/ ; instead, they planned to send a telegram to ambassador , indicating what suggestions they had in relation to revising the restrictive Chinese im- migration law. , , & were appointed to send out the telegram. Another telegram was also sent to the Chinese in Eastern Canada through in Toronto, saying that since most Chinese were in favour of observing the Chinese Humiliation Day, it was hoped that all Chinese could cooperate by .making speeches and not raising the national flag on that day. P.3 3) CBA (NEW WESTMINSTER). In the general meeting held on June 22, it was decided that the members would observe the Chinese Humiliation Day in the same way as proposed by CBA in Victoria.
