JUNE 21 (SATURDAY) P.I 1) A continued report on the comment on the new Chinese immigration laws in U.S. and Canada. P.3 2) (VANCOUVER). A report on its general meeting on June 20. Speeches were made by , , & . pointed out that he had already sent a telegram to Ottawa as well as an appeal to the immigration office for protesting against the registration regulation and that he would inform them immediately he got a reply. suggested to set up 5 groups to ask for opinions from the Chinese at large. , , , , were chosen as the leaders. A number of others had signed their names as helpers. P.3 3) which was set up by members of announced that its anniversary celebration had to be held on June 29 instead of July so as not to clash with the Chinese Humiliation Day. P.3 4) The attitudes of the 4 political parties in B.C. towards the Chinese revealed in the election speeches made by the party leaders during the provincial parlaiment election. As for the Liberals, and the Conservatives, they made no comment on the Chinese. The only party that was in support for the Chinese was the Labour party. The leaders proposed, to extend the franchise to the E. Asians. In addition, they asserted that there was no reason why the E. Asians were not granted citizenship as the other racial groups. , a leader of the Labour Party had made a speech on June 13 in South Vancouver, saying that, the East Asians were also children of God, thus they should not be discriminated against. P.3 5) It was reported in the English newspaper that the Chinese had been K rushing to the immigration office for registration. Thetfy were found to be well- disciplined. No incidens of violence were reported. P.3 6.) (VANCOUVER) announced that an executive meeting would be held on June 23 at CBA to discuss the Chinese Humiliation Day.
