- JUNE 16 (MONDAY) P.I 1) of VICTORIA wrote an article on the Chinese Humiliation Day. He urged the fellow Chinese to support this, otherwise further suppression and discrimination from the Canadians could be possible. P.3 2) CKT (VANCOUVER). A banquet was held on June 15 to celebrate the birthday of ancestor P.3 3) CKT (WINNIPEG). WARmly welcomed & . More than $800 was raised. P.3 4) Kai Ping High School. It was reported that more than $7000 was raised in places near Lethbridge. A report on the enthusiasm of the people was made. P.3 5) News from SASKATOON. The Chinese there gave support to observing the Chinese Humiliation Day. A general meeting for all Chinese would be held on July 1. P.3 6) News from Victoria. Representing the influential Chinese association and the prominent Chinese merchants, sent a letter of protest against the registration regulation to the immigration office. He asserted that the re- gulation fcHxkfaK was particularly influential to those who planned to apply for citizenship and those who had stayed in Canada for a long time. Ap- parently, it was also an insult to the ta already naturalized Canadian citizens and the Canadian born. , being a Canadian Citizen spoke for his fellow members that they would not abide by this registration regulation which had certainly infringed upon their citizens' rights. In addition, he requested to have the written appeal sent to the immigration committee and I the minister of immigration in Ottawa for acknowledgement. he abolishment of that regulation was A sincerely advised in order to save the friendship between Canada and China. P.3 7) Bok On Reading Room (Nanaimo). A 1st anniversary celebration was held on July 1. P.3 8) Fund raising bureau for Kai Ping High School (CALGARY & LETHBRIDGE) thanked , for its fund raising drama performance. Names of the donors were released. P.3 9) (PRINCE RUPERT) announced that the Chinese Humiliation Day would be observed on July 1. All Chinese were advised to attend.
