- BY MAY 23 (FRIDAY) P.I 1) a continued report on the article about developing the business of Hung Mun. P.3 2) had inspected the news telegram of the Chinese Times and had testified that the Chinese Timeshad direct news report from Hong Kong. P.33 3) Kai Ping High School. It was reported that so far $800 was raised by the non Kai-Ping members. This showed that there was not district distinction in raising funds for setting up the school. - A farewell party was held for and who would go to central and easter Canada to raise funds for the school on May 24. P.3 4) Several Chinese were arrested in gambling joints in Carrall St. and Columbia St. P.3 5) CBA(VICTORIA). A meeting was held on May 22 to discuss about setting up "t- ". The 6 associations who had proposed the setting up of such an association had elected 19 representatives to act as the committee members. Different posts were assigned to the committee members. President: Vice: ; The following decisions were made in the meeting: a. & would represent the association to visit various associations, schools and newspaper companies in Vancouver asking for their consent and support for the association, b. R presentatives would be sent out to request Drama Group to help raise funds for the association by giving a drama performance. c. The committee members should write articles on the humiliation faced by the Chinese Canadians and distributed them one a week in both Vancouver and Victoria so as ths to draw/attention of the overseas Chinese. P.3 6) Canadian Oriental Wine and Liquor Co. Ltd. announced that the company had been established for several months and had been registered with the government, having a licence numbered 7279; however recently it was know that had claimed themselves as the owners of the company and were recruiting share- holders. The company has thus wanted to clarify this because none of those self-claimed owners belonged to the company. The Chinese were warned to make sure before they bought any x shares from that company.
