- MAY 13 (TUESDAY) P.I 1) An article on how to promote the business of Hung Mun. 3 Main objectives were suggested:- a. to establish an ancestor temple. b. to establish a political party. c. to unite all organizations concerned. P.3 2) Ti Shing Shon Yee Association (VANCOUVER). A report on its 9th anniversary celebration, on May 11. P.3 3) News from VICTORIA. Reverend fro;m made a de- nunciation against Chinatfcwn as a centre for evil doings, gambling and drugs in a meeting on May 11. (The reverend had once been fined for $2000 for accusin an RCMP.) He pointed out that there were about 20,000 Chinese residents in Chinatown with about a hundred gambling joints and smoking dens. The best way to sweep out these was to let the Chinese government do the job since it would ii know how to handle this better. owever, the B.C. Government could, at the same time, give help to sweeping out such abuses.
