APRIL 28 (MONDAY) P.2 1) CKT (VICTORIA) urged all branches to raise funds for building the 5-Ancestors Temple in Shanghai. The association was at the present moment in lack for funds due to inadequate annual donations and tremendous expenses in public relations affairs. P.3 2) In a meeting organized by CBA, at the Chinese Theatre, Ambassador assured the people that he would try his best to fight for Chinese eqaality however the support of the people was needed. P.3 3) 15 Ambassadors from various countries had held a banquet at Hotel Vancouver to welcome ambassador . After the banquet, and Consul General Lim went to visit the city mayor. P.3 4) Drama group. Its fund raiaing performance for Kai Ping High Schoo had been a great success. More than 1300 tickets were sold and the tickets were a dollar each. P.3 5) The trial of was. reported on. P.3 6) A number of Chinese were arrested in various gambling joints in E. Fender Street Columbia Street, and Cordova Street. P.3 7) 5 Chinese were arrested for smoking drugs.
