APRIL 16 (WEDNESDAY) P.3 1) News from Victoria. The White Women's Association held a meeting on April 15 to discuss setting up an Anti-Narcotic Drug Association. Discriminating speeches against the Chinese were made. A white woman stressed that she could not stand seeing the Chinese who were res- ponsible for selling drugs remained unarrested. Another woman suggested that severe punishment like can used be imposed on the offenders. P.3 2) (VANCOUVER)., An announcement was made on April 15 that 2 general meetings and 2 executive meetings had been called so far to discuss the appropriate election method of CBA. The final de- cisionwas in favour of election by public voting ( ). The ultimate decision of the association had already been sent to CBA & various Chinese newspaper, however, it was indeed a surprise to see that a # of Hoysun members became elected as the executive of CBA after the final election.. wanted to clarify this ridicule by saying that if certain Hoysun members became executives of CBA, these were only their personal HKK matters and was definitely not the concerns of . Furthermore, the association wanted to specify that all significan events concerning the assoc. had to be discussed in meetings first before they weee approved and that all legal correspondence of the association should bear the stamp of Assoc.
