BY APRIL 7 (MONDAY) P.I 1) An article on the necessity of members of CKT abroad to go back to China to set up a political party. P.2 2) The bureau for makin raising funds for Kai Ping High School (Vancouver) held a banquet to thank those who had been so devoted to raising funds for the achool. Among the guests were (president of the Chinese Times), & (journalists for the Chinese Times); (president of Canada Morning Post); (journalists). Speeches about theimportance of education were made. gave a talk on his fund raising Ktrip and said that he would go to the east coast soon. The cooperation and generosity of the fellow Chinese was greatly appreciated. P.3 3) 7 Chinese were caught for smoking drugs in Chinatown. P.3 4) Chun Wah Commerce Association (Vancouver). An acceptance ceremony was held on April 6. Speeches were made by the new president and the executive. P.3 5) The H.Q. for protesting the restrictive Chinese immigration law (Toronto). An announcement about plans for protest was made on Arpil 1. a. To request the Chinese government to make a serious negotiation with the Canadian government. b. All Chinese Canadians should unite together to give moral and finan- cial support to the ambassador in order to make the protest a success. c. The joint efforts of the overseas Chinese were needed to revive the campaign for protest. It was known that the vice Ambassador had pinpointed on 4 restrictive regulations and had already sent a letter of protest to the immigration office. All Overseas Chinese should stand together to back up the protest both morally and financially. The branch^ associations for the protest were requested to give opinions and suggestions regarding the protest to the H.Q. P.3 6) Chinese Public School (Calgary). With the enthusiasm and effort of & , the school had been established and had ik been functioning well for a few months. Due to insufficient funds, the Youth Drama Club was requested to give a performance on April 2. More than $300 was raised.
