Description

February 16 (Saturday) P.3 1) The Chinese Public School (Vancouver) had hired as the teacher. graduated from a teacher training school in Hoysun. P.3 2) The Vice Chinese Ambassador at Ottawa, , wrote to the external affairs department in China on Feb. 11 asking the head ambassador to come to Canada as soon as possible so as to attend the Canadian Par- liament Meeting on Feb. 28. ( had been appointed the head ambassador in October 1923, however he had not yet come to Canada to assume his office.) was anxious to have attend the parliament meeting because it was heard that some MP's were quite disillusioned about the new Chinese immigration law due to its discrim- inattory nature. Besides, many Chinese strongly disagreed with the terms that demanded registration of the Chinese immigrants. In order to make a last effort to protest and seeing that there was still a chance to abandon the law, urgently requested to come to Canada.
