January 10 (Thursday) P.3 1) CKT (Vancouver). The old executives held a banquet on Jan. 9 to welcome the new executives. Speeches were made by , , and P.3 2) News from New Hestminster. The city council held a meeting on Jan. 7 to discuss the east Asian employment problem. The B.C. Pear Growers Association discussed signing an agreement with the city council by which only the whites would be employed in the can's manufacturing companies whereas the East Asians would be excluded. P-3 3) (Vancouver). An announcement was made an Jan. 8 that an election for new executives would be held on Jan. 20. Only those who had paid their annual membership fees were eligible for election. The deadline for fee payment was Jan. 16. Money could be sent to the Chinese Times, , , and P.§ 4) Dart Coon Club (Calgary). An announcement was made on Jan. 6 that all members who had not yet paid their monthly fee should co-operate by giving prompt payment. There would be a 50% discount for those who paid their debts between Jan. 6 and Jan. 30 after which full payment was required. The discount applied to the monthly fee only.
