December 22 Pi 1) An article to comment on the new income tax rule which created extreme difficulties for the Chinese merchants since most of them did not know English or French. 2) CKT Shanghai announced that 3 representatives would be stationed at the pier to welcome any members of CKT aboard who came to Shanghai. 3) CKTT Kamloops. was warmly wlcomed by members on Dec. 20. People there were very enthusiastic in buying shares and bonds. 4) Ghee Tak Tong. , & had gone to Vernon to raise realty funds for the association. Over 100 sharev were collected. 5) CKT Calgary, announced on Dec. 22 that those who had registered to donate money for the returning fare of a member should send the money to the associationnow. 6) Dart Coon Club Victoria. , who had been chosen as exeautive for the association, announced that he was unable to accept the post because he was going to somewhere else. 7) (H.Q. in Vancouver) announced on Dec. 21 that the H.Q. had been established for 4 years and various branch associations were operating well. However, it was found out that some members in Van. had not paid their foundation money. A general meeting had been held and it was decided that all foundation money had to be paid in 2 weeks, otherwise the indebted members would be deprived of the privileges of the association. P3 8) CKT Victoria. was elected as vice Chinese secretary, however the secretary had resigned and was to replace him. would like to resign too because of his poor health. He hoped that ckt would excuse him and elect another capable man.
